Ricciardo disqualified rosberg wins australian grand prix
After qualifying in second place at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, the Haas F1 Team driver lost out on the 2016 Australian Grand Prix title in practice.
With only one full qualifying session remaining in F1 2016 at the Circuit of the Americas, Ricciardo finished fifth overall in FP2. However, despite qualifying ahead of Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg, Ricciardo ended up 10th overall.
After failing to finish ahead of Rosberg, Ricciardo lost out on the overall title to Daniel Ricciardo. After the race, Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari and Haas Team Principal Stefano Domenicali confirmed that the British driver would have to continue with Ricciardo's current team for 2016.
Following his decision to take on Ricciardo's current team, Sebastian Vettel had previously told Auto Motor und Sport that the Briton may move to another team.
"If it's not right with Ricciardo it's also not right with Vettel or even with me. Sebastian, if we're not able to work together, it's not going to be good. So, there's no question," said Vettel.
"It might be good for us with Ricciardo here, but not for me or for Seb. We need to work together in qualifying. We need to have a good weekend together. We've still got some race days remaining."
