Limitations to remain on mobile coverage with some carriers

Some carriers may restrict access to apps, certain websites, and the Internet on certain devices (e.g., iPhones) and may block access to certain web sites (e.g., apps) for the duration of mobile coverage. To learn more about certain apps and websites, please review the following links: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT56685.

Some carriers may block devices from connecting to the Internet entirely for a limited period of time after they are set up for data, such as on an iPhone. Some carriers will allow you to enable data on devices while on the carrier's network while using apps or services, but after the activation period has passed, you must remove all data from the device. This feature does not apply to devices that are used for other purposes.

For details regarding data plans, check out the information in the carriers' respective privacy policies.

The following services and applications are available for iPhone only: AppleCare+ (AppleCare+ is the only premium plan that requires you to purchase iPhone insurance to continue accessing your coverage).

iOS 8

There are two major differences in what we recommend you do with iOS 8:

If you are an active iOS 8 device owner using an iPhone 5s or later device, you need to update your phone to iOS 8.1 (iOS 10) and install the iOS 11 beta update. Or, if you haven't updated to iOS 8.1 yet but you're running an older device, you need to update to iOS 8.3 (iOS 10), available through the Apple Web site.

Android devices do not have the ability to update to iOS 9 (the software version available on iOS devices) and you will be required to upgrade to the next version of Android to continue using your iPhone.

Apple doesn't keep an Android version on each iPhone generation (as of this writing, no previous iPhone 4s or earlier devices are supported). While we do recommend the addition of iOS 8 to your iPhone to ensure all devices running the latest version of iOS, there are still significant limitations to being on iOS 8 coverage at all times.

For details regarding the iOS upgrade process, please check out the information in the carriers' respective privacy policies.

How many iOS devices can I have with me?

iOS 8 has limited room to expand and improve its capabilities. As such, it has been estimated that there are between 70 and 100 iOS devices on the market currently, with the iOS 8 developer preview, available through the Apple Web site, having about 40 to 45 devices. The Apple Developer Program supports about 500 developers and over 100,000 iOS device owners worldwide.

Irwins mining battle in the North West:

'My first experience of the war was through the eyes of a British soldier from Llanbedfyn who survived during the Battle of Midland. While we waited at a point on the line, a few British soldiers approached and asked what we were doing there. We replied that we were fighting with the English and were there to defend them from their enemies. The next thing we remember is seeing a soldier in black armour walking up to us and leading us away. The officer behind us told us that we were engaged in a battle to capture a prisoner and asked us what the battle was all about.

We said that we were there fighting to reclaim a piece of English soil in what is now called Midland. When asked where we were fighting, our reply would have been something along the lines of the Battle of Midland. We were not told the terms of the battle, our orders, our numbers and the details. We were then marched out of the line of men and taken to a small military outpost. From that time onwards it would be our lives, our lives, our lives to win this land. We knew what the enemy was capable of but we did not expect them to get away with it. In the words of Sir William Smith, 'the enemy had not only the upper hand but had the upper class in their camp. They were taking the land of the peasantry and the English. Those were our soldiers.

From that time I would watch our men fight in order to get that coveted piece of land. It was a battle and we had a fight to the death.'

In 1848, the war took its toll as the South Wales Regiment was forced to leave the trenches and live on an island with a small British force led by Lieutenant Sir Francis Drake and a Welsh officer named Thomas Ward.

At this point, the British army was under the command of the British High Commissioner at Waddington.

Sir Francis Drake's last day at the Welsh capital and it was also when the war ended as the Queen Elizabeth I's new country.

The war's end was a watershed moment for the Welsh people, it changed forever the future of the nation and a generation went by without a battle being fought for a war with the English.
